Sure, he's stupid, but that doesn't mean you should have just broken up with him like that. You should have talked to him seriously about it, especially since you knew he had a problem, and you could have done something to fix it, rather than now make it so he'll have a crappy life forever.

Girl, get some self-confidence and find a new man who has a life! Your problem, honey, is low self-esteem... realize that you are worth a good relationship. You might want to take some serious time to figure out why it was you were with such a loser for so long, work on *yourself* first and the love will come. Don't spend another dime on a man unless he's willing to meet you in the middle, and is serious about having a life with you.

What's the matter with you. Hes ten years your senior. Youre not wrong one bit. Way to go getting your stuff together and moving on. He sounds like a total loser. He must have some killer charm since you were with him for 3 years. Go be "miss independent" He's lead in your shoes.
