The truth is that you can't control what your husband does... he probably should NOT have gone over there and raised that much hell, because the truth is, it's just a proposition, you can simply tell someone, "no." It's their relationship... maybe she knows he messes around... it's better not to get involved with those things. I think you were right to tell your husband, however... though honestly he probably could have dealt with the situation with more dignity and tact.

You did the right thing, especially if he seemed really serious about having an affair with you (you do have some guys that come off as "flirty", and truly mean nothing by it). If he was that bold to try something like that; with his neighbor, it was only a matter of time before she found out he is a cheater. All you did was made the truth known sooner than later. If this lady was smart, and start putting the pieces together (that is why God gave us "woman's intuition"), she should leave.
